Antitrust head: No conditions for bread price growth in Russia
MOSCOW, Oct 26 (PRIME) -- There are no conditions for growth of bread prices in Russia, head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemyev told reporters on Friday.
“Taking into account the yield that the farmers have reached, the level of exports… the government can just restrict exports of grain if there is a threat of a bread price rise, and the domestic price will plummet. In this case, it will merely compensate for an increase that was a result of a diesel fuel rise,” Artemyev said.
Two Krasnoyarsk Region-based bakery facilities Yarkhleb and Dikhleb earlier notified their contractors of the plans to raise prices by 10% and 8–12%, respectively, due to inflating gasoline and flour, higher power tariffs and weakening of the ruble.
